The Twisted Shrub story
The Twisted Shrub was born in a basement bar of a Minneapolis restaurant in the summer of 2015.
On that fateful day, my wife, KC, and I attended a cocktail class at Parlour Bar when our bartender extraordinaire announced these five simple words that launched our journey: "Today's cocktail theme is shrubs!"
Prior to that highly prophetic utterance, we had never heard of shrubs. Seriously, never. A few cocktails later, we were hooked.
As ardent believers in the power of apple cider vinegar, we spent the next several weeks experimenting with hundreds of shrub recipes by combining real fruit with apple cider vinegar. We finally settled on six flavors we believe are the best shrubs on the planet, in our humble opinion. Our shrubs find the perfect balance of tart and sweet for ALL your drinks!
We take our time, too. Every bottle of The Twisted Shrub is handcrafted over three days in our production space at the Northeast Food District in Northeast Minneapolis.
We use just three simple, all-natural ingredients to create these zing-filled mixers: the tart, gut-healthy deliciousness of apple cider vinegar, real fruit (always!) and 100% cane sugar. That's it. We never use any additives, preservatives or concentrates....and we never will!
Our year-round shrub flavors are Strawberry Lime, Pineapple Habanero, Blueberry Lemon and Apple Ginger. Keep your eyes peeled for two amazing seasonal shrubs, too: Peach Habanero in the summer and Cranberry Clementine in the cooler months.
We think everyone should have apple cider vinegar as part of their daily diet, too. The benefits are numerous….from keeping your blood sugar in check to aiding digestion, enhancing weight loss and lowering your cholesterol. The Twisted Shrub helps you get your daily dose of ACV in a tasteful, delicious way.
And you can get your daily dose of ACV as a healthier, non-alcoholic drink….or as a cocktail, too!
Bottom line, you deserve more exciting, healthier drinks in your life. The Twisted Shrub will make all your drinks zing…and make you a bartending hero at home, too!
